STOCKHOLM, March 18 -- Several people were shot dead in a shooting spree late Wednesday at a restaurant in Sweden's southwestern port city of Goteborg, Swedish police said.
"Some died on the spot from gunshot wounds. The death toll can be expected to rise, " the police said in a statement.
Local media reported that at least two people were killed, eight injured.
Aside from knowing that an automatic weapon had been used in the shooting, the police said they do not have any suspects yet with investigation still underway.
The restaurant involved was in a gang-troubled neighborhood in Goteborg, the country's second largest city.
