
HONG KONG, March 25 -- A 91-year-old woman and her 61- year-old son have died following a fire in Mong Kok, Hong Kong Tuesday night, according to local media report here Wednesday.
Firefighters said they were called to the blaze in a 12th floor unit at Allied Plaza on Nathan Road at around 11 p.m. last night.
The pair were taken to the hospital but later died from their injuries. Around 80 people were evacuated from the building during the fire.
One firefighter was taken to hospital after suffering an injury during the rescue operation.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
