
NANJING, June 13 -- Firefighters have put out a fire which broke out in a chemical plant in east China's Jiangsu Province on Friday.
Three plant workers and a firefighter were slightly injured as they were putting out the fire in the Dynamic chemical plant in an industrial park in Nanjing, the provincial capital. They were sent to a hospital for treatment, according to the Nanjing firefighting department.
A blast occurred to an epoxyethane device in the plant and then triggered fire at about 9:15 p.m..Friday. The fire spread to three chemical tanks nearby.
The fire was put out at around 3 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters were still cooling the tanks to prevent a resurgence of the fire on Saturday morning.
Environmental authorities said the incident had little impact to the air and surrounding waterways.
