Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will attend the 17th China-EU Summit in Brussels and visit Belgium, pay an official visit to France, and visit the headquarters of the OECD from June 28 to July 2, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang announced on Tuesday.
During his six visits to Europe over a period of three years, Premier Li has set foot on ten different European countries and closed deals worth nearly 100 billion U.S. dollars.
Premier Li Keqiang - dubbed China's high-speed rail supersalesman - has been a key figure in promoting China's rail system.
During Premier Li's visit to Europe in 2013, China reached a joint agreement with Hungary and Serbia to build a railway between Belgrade and Budapest. The three sides set up joint working groups and committed themselves to building a modern express line that meets EU standards and satisfies the demands of passengers and freight transporters.
In 2014, Premier Li signed an agreement with his Hungarian and Serbian counterparts to extend the Hungary-Serbia railway into a land-sea express route that starts from Piraeus port in Greece, runs through Belgrade in Serbia and Skopje in Macedonia and ends in Budapest. The express line will become a convenient route for trade and goods transport between China and Europe.
In October 2014, Premier Li and his Russian counterpart agreed to continue working on a survey concerning the establishment of a Eurasian high-speed transport corridor linking Beijing and Moscow, thereby promoting all-round cooperation with a priority given to the high-speed railway between Moscow and Kazan.
