
BEIJING, July 1 -- China's top political advisor Yu Zhengshengpledged here on Wednesday to enhance strategic cooperation with Laos.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks while meeting with Vice President Tong Yeu Tho of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC).
Calling the two countries good neighbors, friends, comrades and partners, Yu said China will continue to develop ties with Laos from a strategic height and long-term perspective.
Yu called on both sides to enhance strategic communication, cooperation and cultural exchanges, fulfill the consensus reached between leaders of the two countries and two parties, to promote bilateral ties up to a new stage.
The CPPCC hopes to enhance exchanges with the LFNC and learn from each other, he said.
Tong expressed appreciation for China's help for Laos' development, expecting closer cooperation between the LFNC and the CPPCC.
Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee Zhang Qingli also held talks with Tong later on Wednesday.
