MADRID, July 22 -- Real Madrid are on the verge of completing the signing of young Chinese player, Lin Liangming according to reports in the Spanish press.
Spanish sports paper, Diario AS, reports a deal is in place for Real Madrid to pay 300,000 euros (around 350,000 US dollars) to Lin' s current club Guangzhou R&F.
However, the newspaper adds the club do not wish to make it official until they arrive in China on Saturday in order to heighten the impact in the Chinese media.
Real Madrid will play Inter Milan in Guangzhou on July 27th and also take on AC Milan in Shanghai on July 30th.
Lin will not form part of the Real Madrid first team squad and the 19-year-old midfielder will either travel to Spain to form part of the Real Madrid Castilla squad, which is effectively Real Madrid' s B-team and which plays in the third tier of the Spanish game, or remain on loan at a Chinese club in order to continue with his development as a player.
Real Madrid signed a collaboration contract with Guangzhou Evergrande in May this year, but Lin plays for Guangzhou' s other team R&F which is coached by former Atletico Madrid and Getafe defender, Cosmin Contra, who left Getafe at the start of the year to work in China.
