Two take-away vending machines will be put into use in Anzhen street in Beijing, providing convenience for old people who do not cook at home.
One of the machines is placed outside of a supermarket in the street. The machine is of the same size as an ATM and is easy to operate.
The introduction of the machines mainly aims to providing convenience for old people, especially those who are too old to cook at home.
Old people can order meals one day in advance via the machine and the supplier will put meals in the machine the next day in accordance with their orders, says a staff member of Home Affair Branch in Anzhen Street. The machine can contain 120 sets of meal and offers more than 10 options priced between 8 and 16 yuan, the staff member added.
