Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan has climbed to second place on the list of Forbes' Highest Paid Actors, since the magazine expanded its annual ranking to those who work outside the U.S. movie industry.
Earning 50 million U.S. dollars last year, Chan is second to Robert Downey Jr, the lead actor in "Iron Man" and the "The Avengers," who is at the top of the list with an annual income of $80 million.
This is the first time Forbes has expanded its list to actors working outside the U.S. film industry. Five Bollywood actors have also been included.
The box office returns of Chan's new movie "Dragon Blade" have reached $120 million.
According to Forbes, Vin Diesel, the lead actor in "The Fast and the Furious" series, ranked third with an annual income of $47 million.
The global film market continued to grow from 2013 to 2014, especially China's annual box office receipts, which rose by 34 percent to $4.8 billion. The American and Canadian box offices dropped by 5 percent to $10.4 billion over the same period.
