19-year-old firefighter Zhou Ti was rescued at 7:05 a.m. Friday at the Tianjin blast site, more than 30 hours after the blasts. Among the firefighters who have lost contact since the blasts, he is the only one saved up to now.
Zhou Ti is from the Binhai New Area brigade of Tianjin's fire department. He is one of the firefighters that were trapped at the blast site.
Zhou was found on the road near the warehouse, lying beside an exploded container.
“Has the fire been put out?” asked Zhou immediately after he woke up. He is now in stable condition.
He recalled that he lost conscious after the first explosion.
His face got burnt, and he can’t even open his eyes. He identifies his comrades by voice. When he recognized the voice of his squad leader, he asked, “How about other firefighters?”
