A Chinese man was arrested by the Amurskaya Oblast Border Patrol of FSB (Russia's Federal Security Service) for crossing the border into Russia illegally with an air mattress on Aug. 12, 2015.
The news was first released by the Sputnik (a Russian news website) a week later. There was no resistance during the arrest. Police found food and ID on the man, who was confirmed as a Chinese citizen born in 1989.
Based on Russian federal criminal law, the man will be fined no more than 200,000 rubles(about 19,400 RMB) or less than 2 years reeducation through labor or equivalent jail time.
Amurskaya Oblast is located on the far east area of Russia, to the north of Heilongjiang.
