Editor’s note: Sanlitun, located in Beijing’s eastern Chaoyang District, is a fashion center for shopping, food and arts. Hundreds of young fashionable men and women, most of whom are from China’s middle class, go there every day, sporting stylish clothes and hairstyles to stand out and display their own fashion sense rather than blend in with the crowd. Fashion is everywhere there, as everyone, from Chinese people to foreigners, to street fashion photographers, is eager to show up their own sense of style.
