On Aug. 13, a passer-by found a baby abandoned in Renming Park in Zibo, east China's Shandong province, and called the police.

A red plastic bag was found beside the baby. There were some quilts and clothes for the baby and some cash inside.

Police sent the baby to the hospital. The medical examination confirmed the baby is hermaphrodite and there are some melanin spots on the baby’s body.　　

Currently, the abandoned baby stays in Children's Welfare Institute in Zibo, where he/she has been taken care of by dedicated staff. The baby's mental state has greatly improved, according to the staff.
