
China will hold a grand military parade to commemorate the victory of Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, which is the 15th of military parade in the People's Republic of China's history.
Military parade was listed as an important content of Founding Ceremony of the P.R. China in 1949. From 1949 (Founding Ceremony) to 2009, China had held 14 military parades on National Day. On October 1, 1949, China held a grand military parade on Beijing Tian'anmen Square. The military parade was held annually until 1959. There was no military parade for 24 years from that on. The grand military parade of the 35th, 50th and 60th anniversary of the founding of the P.R. China were held respectively in 1984, 1999 and 2009.
