
BEIJING, Sept. 15 -- China will work with France for the success of the Paris climate change talks at the end of the year, Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli said during a meeting here Tuesday afternoon with Jacques Audibert, diplomatic advisor to the French President.
Zhang said the Chinese government attaches great importance to climate change. It has adopted green, low carbon and recyclable growth in its drive to build a sound environment.
He said the Chinese side is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with France to jointly push for the success of the Paris talks according to the principles of "common but differentiated responsibilities", equity and capabilities.
Audibert said France attaches great importance on the positive and important role that China plays on the climate change issue. He expressed the readiness to cooperate closely with the Chinese side to work for the success of the Paris climate change talks.
Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi was present at the meeting. Yang held talks with Audibert on Tuesday morning.
