
The largest Jurassic dinosaur fossil in China which was discovered in Shanshan county, northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, by experts from China and Germany is expected to make debut next year.
The fossil was unearthed in a stratum of the Middle Jurassic period, about 165 million years ago, in the county's Qiktim area. It was a gigantic dinosaur, with 35 meters in length and 30 tons in weight. Its cervical vertebrae is 14.5 meters long and femur is 1.68 meters long, making it the largest Jurassic dinosaur ever found in China.
