A subway train themed Silk Road civilization was launched in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi province on Monday. Focusing on the Silk Road, the pictures painted on the train reflect the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and the strategic layout of the "One Belt and One Road" initiative.
The train is composed of six carriages, the themes of which are exploration, inclusiveness, mutual benefit, mutual correction, co-operation and win-win respectively.
All the cultural symbols shown are in the form of hand-drawn pictures. The outside of the train is painted with desert and camels, symbolizing the ancient Silk Road.
Shang Ziyong, a famous scholar, said that the train is full of cultural ambiance and each picture on the train is exquisite. He will take the train one more time to experience and learn more. Many passengers took out their smart phones to take pictures while in the train.
And on the internet the Silk Road themed train is also widely praised. Netizens of other cities all said, "Look at Xi'an's subway train!" And many of them have expressed wishes of taking the train in Traditional Chinese costume.
