Tourists visit a newly opened area that runs from the Meridian Gate to the Donghua Gate inside the Palace Museum in Beijing. A number of areas in the museum, also known as the Forbidden City, including the Hall of Consolation of Mothers, opened to the public for the first time on Sunday. This has increased the area available to visitors from 52 percent of the historic site to 65 percent. (Photo Source: Chinadaily/Jiang Dong/Asianewsphoto)
