Bandeng Mountain Ethnic primary school was built in 1992 and it is the only ethnic boarding primary school in more than 80 ethnic villages in Chuxiong city, southwestern China's Yunnan province.

Besides implementing bilingual teaching, teachers of Bandeng Mountain Ethnic primary school also arrange many activities which advocate embroidery culture and offer various courses which teach traditional dances, three-stringed instrument and flute.

Through these activities, students will have better understandings and show more interest to Yi traditional culture.
