More than 9,300 students from ASEAN countries have come to southwest China's Guangxi for further education in recent years. Wu Wenxun from Vietnam is one of them.
Wu chooses to go to China for further education under the influence of his grandfather,who likes Chinese characters, tea and music and loves particularly calligraphy and guzheng, a Chinese plucked zither. This made going to China and learn Chinese Wu’s first dream.
Later on, Wu became an undergraduate majoring in Chinese. He makes great efforts in learning Chinese language and culture.
Wu plays with Chinese students and goes to their dormitories to chat with them in Chinese. Moreover, he also talks with the security guards and cleaners. Gradually, he can speak Mandarin fluently and grasped Cantonese.
Wu likes watching Kung fu movies during his spare time and his second dream is to become a kung fu master.Wu has learned Tai Chi and Wing Chun from his university teachers.
After getting a bachelor degree, Wu works for his master degree on the scholarship provided by the Chinese government. During holidays, he works as an interpreter for Chinese businessmen who go to Vietnam to do business.
Wu's third dream is to persuade his brothers and sisters into doing business in China. Wu's brothers and cousins have gone to China for further education in a succession under the influence of Wu.
