
NANCHANG, Jan. 19 -- Three students died and 19 others were injured as a man drove his car into a crowd on Tuesday morning in east China's Jiangxi Province, government sources said on Tuesday afternoon.
At around 7 a.m. Tuesday, a white vehicle struck pedestrians on a road near a middle school in Fengxin County, according to witnesses.
The injured have been rushed to hospitals. Among them, three are in serious condition.
The 43-year-old driver has been held by police. Witnesses said he tried to commit suicide after the incident.
Further investigation into the incident is under way.
