
Xi wishes villagers a better life in video chat
President Xi chatted online with villagers of Chixi Village in Ningde, southeast China's Fujian province, from the multi-media studio of People's Daily Online.
Chixi Village was once dubbed “the first village of China's poverty reduction”. Xi attached great importance to the poverty alleviation work there when he was serving as party secretary of Ningde. He gave important instructions on reducing poverty there in January 2015.
During the video chat, Xi spoke highly of the achievements the village has made and wished the villagers an even better life in the future.
