In January 2016, China Wanda Group and Jinshida company reached a consensus on jointly carrying out a development project in the Muta area of Xi'an Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, which will be a world-class urban complex when completed. The project is expected to involve about 253,000 square meters of land, about 1.70 million square meters of floor space, and a gross investment of 20 billion yuan.
The project will include a Wanda Square, a group of premium office buildings to be the highest of its kind and so deemed a landmark in northwestern China, a collection of apartment buildings well suited for businesspeople, an international culture-rich residential community, and a modern block where people can go shopping and do business; in short, the project will incorporate such urban functions as business and residential ones. As part of the project's first phase, the Wanda Square is scheduled to open at the end of September 2017.
