KFC' s first intelligent robot concept store "Original+" opened its doors to customers at the National Convention and Exhibition Centre in Shanghai on April 25.
Sporting a rectangular head and vase-like shaped body, the robot named "Du Mi" helped people order food and make payments.
The plump robot was smartly attired in a red waistcoat doubling as overalls.
Serving as the first store manager of KFC's super APP, popular Chinese singer-actor Lu Han made a surprising appearance at the concept store's grand opening.
The 26-year-old star became the first KFC customer to order and receive food solely from the robot.
"Du Mi" marks the first commercial use of artificial intelligence in the fastfood industry.
The artificial intelligence robot was launched by China's leading web services company Baidu duing its World Conference in 2015.
