LONDON May 5 (People's Daily Online)—— This May, London will for the second time welcome London Craft Week, a programme of carefully constructed experiences to showcase the best British craftsmanship.
Celebrating British luxury craft and championing the seven selected brands chosen for Walpole’s Crafted programme, the exhibition will take place at London retailer Fortnum & Mason in May.
Set to showcase the works of Alexandra Llewellyn, Silvia Weidenbach, Insley & Nash, Eleanor Lakelin, Theresa Nguyen, Struthers London and Mark Tallowin, three selected designers will exemplify the exhibition’s theme of ‘Surprise and Delight,’ weaving story-telling and demonstrations into the presentation of their bespoke, luxury pieces.
Michelle Emmerson, CEO of Walpole, commented, ‘British craft is a sacred industry which should be celebrated and we are tremendously proud that London is home to a week-long celebration of this prestigious field. Walpole’s Crafted class of 2015 are each luxury artisans who continue to amaze with their awe-inspiring creations, representing British talent at its very best.’
Jo Newton - Head of Fashion, Beauty and Home, Fortnum & Mason, ‘Fortnum’s has always taken great pride in supporting emerging creative talent and recognising excellence in design and craftsmanship and we are delighted to be hosting this amazing exhibition.’
