
GUIYANG, June 15 -- Five people have died and four remain missing after flash floods, mudslides and landslides hit a county in southwest China's Guizhou Province.
Heavy rain pounded Jinping County from Tuesday night until early Wednesday, with 202 millimeters of precipitation recorded in some areas, according to the county's publicity office.
Traffic, power and telecommunications were all affected, and homes were destroyed.
Rescuers have arrived at four of the worst-hit townships. The precise losses are under calculation.
