China and Ukraine have inked an agreement on August 30, 2016, to restart production of the world's largest transport aircraft Antonov An-225, according to CCTV Russian language Facebook page.
The agreement signed by The Ukrainian state enterprise "Antonov" and Airspace Industry Corporation of China (AICC) states that the only one An-225 has been sold to China, and it gives China access to the aircraft’s designs and technologies for the purpose of domestic production.
The Chinese group plans to build two production sites, with one in Luzhou, southwest China's Sichuan province, and the other in Guigang, south China's Guangxi province.
But skepticism remain about the credibility of the report. Russian media Взгляд reported that the Ukrainian side has denied the selling of technologies, though they have admitted that both sides expressed "intention to long-term cooperation".
