Eight people were confirmed dead after four residential houses collapsed early Monday morning in Wenzhou City, east China's Zhejiang Province.
Rescuers are still verifying the number of people who are buried in debris.
The disaster happened around 4 a.m. in Wenzhou's Lucheng industrial district. As of 11:28 a.m. 13 people were rescued, but eight of them were announced dead.
Rescuing effort is ongoing.
