Artistic communication between China and Mexico can be dated back to 116 years ago, when Feng Gangbai became the first Chinese to study art in Mexico.
Now the National Art Museum of China has enhanced the cultural link by displaying dozens of artworks from its collection at the San Ildefonso College, a museum and cultural center in Mexico City.
Xieyi — Art from China shows paintings, sculptures and folk arts that open a window on the scope and depth of Chinese cultural tradition to the local audience, conducting a dialogue with the college's baroque architecture and marvelous murals it is famous for.
The exhibition is made possible under the program of the Sino-Latin Cultural Year. It runs through February.
