

A 300-year-old tree in Wuyuan, Jiangxi province is still flourishing this cold December after being struck by lightning. There are only two strips of bark left on its trunk, which is 3 meters thick. The tree was trimmed from some 40 meters to just 10 after being hit. It has been listed as a major protected site by the local government.
