On 31 December 2016, the five-day 2016 China-Laos-Vietnam (Pu'er) Border Trade Fair was opened in Jiangcheng Hani and Yi Autonomous County.

Project contracts with a total of 2.7589 billion RMB in investment were signed during the Fair, including three productive projects with a total of 1.52 billion RMB in investment, and two operational projects with a total of 1.2389 billion RMB in investment.
