Gansu province in Northwest China is located at a pivot zone of the ancient Silk Road, where different cultures and civilizations once collided. Its variety of landscapes, long history, brilliant cultures and numerous cultural attractions have made Gansu a unique place for travel.
Gansu has collected an investment of 10.5 million yuan (around $1.51 million) to launch the construction of a content cloud of all-for-one tourism, which will provide more in-depth and targeted information for tourists coming to Gansu, according to Huo Yulong, a deputy head from Gansu's bureau of culture and tourism.
During the first phase of the program in October, different creation teams were sent to nine cities and prefectures in the province to survey local cultural and tourism elements including scenic spots, history, folk customs and food. So far, 502 articles have been created and published online, while more than 10,000 pictures and about 50 videos have been shot.
Gansu will launch the next phase by focusing on its winter and spring tourism resources later, as well as promoting the construction of content clouds in other regions, to comprehensively improve its competitiveness in tourism.
