The Daliangshan tunnel of the Datong-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway was cut through on March 21. As an important supporting project of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, the Datong-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway is expected to begin service before the end of this year.
The high-speed railway will reduce travel time between Datong, Shanxi province and Beijing to around 100 minutes from the current 6 hours.
