Zhejiang A&F University in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, sent new students environmentally-friendly admission letters made of sliced bamboo veneer, which is the fruit of the university's self-developed new technology of deep bamboo processing.
Containing state of the art technology, this year's admission letter is lighter and thinner than those of previous years. The thickness of the admission letter is equivalent to four pieces of regular A4 paper. As the paper was processed using techniques including hot pressing and antisepsis, it is pliable and sturdy, and can also be rolled into a scroll.
