Aerial photo taken on April 2, 2019 shows the rural scenery in Tonghai County of Yuxi, southwest China's Yunnan Province. Yunnan Province, located in southwestern China, is very rich in biodiversity thanks to its advantageous natural conditions of abundant plateau mountains and distinct climates. The forest coverage in Yunnan has reached 60.3 percent, and the province is known as "Animal Kingdom" and "Plant Kingdom". Yunnan set forth the aim of building it into the most beautiful province in China. It has put great efforts in promoting ecological civilization construction by changing its mode of development and developing green and healthy industries. During the 12th Five-year Plan period (2011-2015), Yunnan Province phased out over 23.98 million tonnes of outdated production capacities in total. The water quality of the province's nine plateau lakes, including Fuxian Lake, Lugu Lake and Dian Lake, is also continuously improving. Yunnan is on its way of green development. From Aug. 11 to 13, the "Yunnan Day" event is held at the ongoing Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, in which a panoramic ecological view of Yunnan is exhibited. (Xinhua/Hu Chao)
