
The high-speed commuter trains in the suburbs of tropical Hainan’s capital city, Haikou, are now ready to accept passengers in seven fantastic tropical coatings.
The train line started operation on July 1, commuting between Haikou Railway Station and Haikou Meilan International Airport, making Haikou the first city in the nation to run intercity trains using high-speed rail.
When the trains went into service two months ago, they came with four coatings, and now all seven are ready.
Each train consists of four cars and has a maximum capacity of 756 people. The route stretches 38 kilometers, and trains are expected to arrive every 15 minutes and run as fast as 160 kilometers per hour.
The trains stop at six stations along the route, including Haikou Railway Station, Changliu Station, Xiuying Station, Chengxi Station Haikou East Railway Station and Haikou Meilan International Airport. (Photo/China Railway)
