

China's two ancient irrigation sites, Hetao irrigation project in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Qianjinpi irrigation project in Jinagxi Province, have been recognized as World Heritage Irrigation Structures (WHIS) on September 4, 2019.
It brings the total number of Chinese irrigation projects on the list to 19. Since the founding of the PRC, agricultural infrastructure construction has been continuously implemented, which has significantly improved irrigation conditions in China.
