Shenyang, Dec. 12 (People's Daily Online) Co-organized by the National Cultural Heritage Administration and the People’s Government of Liaoning Province, the exhibition Meet the Tang Dynasty Again kicked off on Oct. 7 at the Liaoning Provincial Museum to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China.
The exhibition focuses on the cultural relics from one of China’s most vigorous and prosperous dynasties, the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907).
“With a history of 289 years, the Tang Dynasty was the pinnacle of thousands of years of Chinese feudal social history,” said Dong Baohou, director of the Academic and Researching Department at Liaoning Provincial Museum.
According to Dong, 100 cultural relics relating to the Tang Dynasty are on display at the exhibition, 38 of which are first grade items.
“The exhibition is held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and organizing such an exhibition is a good way to boost our confidence in our culture, which coincides with President Xi’s calling to strengthen China’s cultural confidence,” added Dong.
The exhibition has received over 400,000 tourists in the past two months and will run until Jan. 5, 2020.
