The Spring Festival travel rush, known as "Chunyun" in Chinese, refers to the annual travel peak that occurs before and after the Chinese Spring Festival.
"Chunyun is a major part of Chinese culture, and we hope to learn more about it by volunteering in the railway station," said Bruno, one of the volunteers, who comes from the Republic of the Congo.
With the rapid development of high-speed rail, more foreign travelers will take trains across China during this period. Therefore, overseas volunteers could be beneficial, said Qin Qijie, station master of the Fulingbei railway station.
"We can help foreign travelers know more about the station as well as the Spring Festival travel rush in China," said Bruno.
Bruno and other international volunteers will guide the travelers at the service center, help them buy and collect the tickets and check their tickets at the entrance gate.
China's high-speed rail represents the rapid development of the country and this development is spreading overseas, said Bruno, adding that he is delighted to provide services for travelers from China and the rest of the world.
