The Simao-Lancang Expressway Project is one of the “all-pass county-level expressways, if possible” projects in Yunnan Province and started in September 2016, with the main line being 125 kilometers long. The Simao-Lancang Expressway radiates through the three border counties with the largest concentration of ethnic groups in Pu’er City, benefiting more than 700,000 minority people in the border areas. The Simao-Lancang Expressway also plays a great role in the interconnection between Pu’er City and neighboring countries.
