In response to the reemergence of COVID-19 cases in Beijing, the local authorities have proposed that residents stay put during the Spring Festival holiday, a traditional holiday featuring family reunion that usually sees mass migration. Xinfadi Market is expected to provide around 20,000 tons of vegetables and 16,000 tons of fruits daily during this year’s Spring Festival, while 1,500 to 1,800 vendors will continue working during the Spring Festival to ensure Beijing’s food supply.
