Yandai Xiejie (Tobacco Pipe Lean Street)
Located at the core of Shichahai Historic Conservation Area, Yandai Xiejie is one of the eight key featured commercial streets in Beijing. The street was initially named Gulouxiejie during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and was gradually named Yandai Xiejie because the street is thronged with smoking pipe stores and bears a strong resemblance to a smoking pipe in shape.
