Triangular Cake
The Triangular Cake is a unique delicacy in some areas of the Simao Prefecture, including Jingdong, Zhenyuan, Jinggu, Mojiang, and Simao. It tastes soft in the mouth, glutinous but not greasy. This food is prepared as follows: use glutinous rice to make gluten; use ham, fresh meat, chopped Chinese chive, and other materials to prepare a salty filling or use sugar, honey, walnut, peanut, sesame, and cockscomb seed oil to prepare a sweet filling; use the gluten to wrap the filling and use three fingers to give what is formed a triangular shape, like a water caltrop; put the gluten pieces in a steamer with a layer of banana leaf placed on its top; steam the gluten pieces until it is well cooked.
