Ge (CNS/Yuan Xingfen)
Making use of her sweet voice, Ge proclaimed the need to fight against the Japanese invaders through a series of songs, and also saved soldiers of the Eighth Route Army and local residents.
One day Yang Futang, a soldier of the Eighth Route Army, was forced to hide himself in a cabin, after coming into contact with Japanese soldiers when he was trying to return to his base. At that moment, Ge intervened by singing revolutionary songs from the top of a tree, enticing the Japanese soldiers to shoot into the forest and giving Yang a precious opportunity to escape the village
On another occasion some women were confronted by Japanese soldiers. In order to help them escape, Ge attracted the attention of the soldiers with her singing. After that the women became good friends with Ge, and helped promote the cause of anti-aggression.
Inspired by Ge's energetic songs, people living in remote areas were convinced of the necessity to save China through battle.
