The cemetery for Red Army martyrs of the Sichuan-Shaanxi revolutionary base is located in southwest China's Sichuan province. It consists of three parts including the cemetery, the site compound of the General Hospital of the Red Fourth Army and Wangping new village. It covers 350 hectares after expansion. The cemetery is the largest one in China, with 25,048 Red Army martyrs buried there. More than 3 million people have come to the cemetery to commemorate the martyrs since its opening on May 9, 2012. It is one of the national patriotism education demonstration bases.
China marks the first Martyrs' Day on Sept. 30, 2014, one day before the National Day.
