During the China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2014, officials from Shaanxi Province held discussions with Ella Perasova, director of the Silk Road Department, UN World Tourism Organization, on Xi’an City’s application for the status of the host city of the World Tourism Organization’s Silk Road International Conference 2015 and related matters about in-depth cooperation. Both parties exchanged views on such topics as the cooperation opportunities brought to Shaanxi by the planning for the UN World Tourism Organization Silk Road Program, and Shaanxi’s entry into the Silk Road Site Corridor Program of the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) or the World Tourism Organization. Both parties arrived at the tentative consensus that Shaanxi will hold the Silk Road International Conference next June.
