SYDNEY, Jan. 8-- More than 110 Australian people became ill and many were admitted to hospital suffering food poisoning, local media reported on Thursday.
The outbreak of potentially deadly salmonella poisoning was traced to a Chinese restaurant in Brisbane.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that health authorities believe the salmonella came from eggs used in the batter to make deep fried ice cream.
The restaurant was ordered to cease trading pending an investigation.
