
An entrepreneur in Nanchang, China's Jiangxi Province, awarded 87 farmers nearly 3 million yuan (over 460,000 U.S. dollars) in bonuses on January 8, 2015.
Ling Jihe, the chairman of Lu Neng Agricultural Company, owns over 12 million square meters of farmland in Nanchang.
He hires over 100 farmers from nearby to farm for him and divides them into 16 working groups. Each person working for him has a fixed payment and an annual bonus.
This January Ling gave a total of 2,889,000 yuan in bonuses to 87 farmers, roughly twice as much as in 2014.
Liu Gaomei, one of Ling's managers, received a bonus of nearly 360,000 yuan (58,000 U.S. dollars).
What's more, Ling also awarded a 6-day vacation to these farmers in Hainan province.
