
NANNING, Feb. 6 -- A knife-wielding assailant injured eight people in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Thursday night, police said Friday.
Police in Bobai County said they received reports of the knife attack at a karaoke outlet at about 11 p.m.. They rushed to the site and shot the suspect, who was on a stabbing spree.
The assailant later died in the hospital. The injured included one police officer and seven civilians, two of whom were seriously injured.
Police identified the assailant as a 20-year-old local resident surnamed Ruan. The case is under further investigation.
