Doumen is an ancient town situated to the north of Shaoxing city, Zhejiang province. The small town has a long history.
Doumen Town was an important salt production area from 500 B.C. to 1940s. It was also a hydro junction from Han Dynasty to Ming Dynasty.
Unlike other ancient towns, Doumen has not been commercialized; it still preserves the beauty of a traditional town in south China.
