
3. Aim to make at least 200 mistakes a day!
This may sound counter-intuitive, but the more mistakes you make, the better! It means you are truly using the language. I highly recommend people start by learning and then immediately using as many words and phrases as they can (sentence structure can wait until you are at the intermediate stage and ready to 'tidy up').
Each mistake may seem like it would lead to ridicule or that you'd insult the other person, but from trying this all over the world in many cultures, I've found that pretty much everywhere people will be patient with you. And getting over the fear of making mistakes has been the most important challenge to later reaching fluency.
